By harnessing the power of real-time data analytics and intelligent insights, our energy saving algorithm helps in saving a minimum of 15% on Air Conditioner's energy consumption.
About The Role
As the Head of Engineering at Living Things, you will shape the technology vision and lead the development of scalable, cloud-native, and data-driven systems that power our clean-tech solutions. You'll drive innovation across IoT, AI/ML, and data platforms, enabling real-time insights, automation, and measurable sustainability impact. Beyond building complex systems, you will mentor and grow a world-class engineering team, establish best practices, and foster a culture of ownership and innovationensuring Living Things delivers reliable, customer-centric solutions that reduce carbon footprint and transform how businesses consume energy.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Technical Leadership:
? Define and own the long-term technology vision and roadmapaligned with business and sustainability goals.? Enable data-driven decision-making by partnering with the analyticsteam to design modern data platforms, data lakes, and real-timepipelines.? Ensure alignment of engineering strategy with business outcomesand environmental impact objectives.
Building Complex Systems:
? Lead the design and development of large-scale, complex webapplications from scratch, ensuring reliability, scalability, andperformance.? Drive event-driven architectures and microservices patterns tosupport real-time analytics and operational workflows.
Cloud-Native Execution:
? Architect and manage multiple microservices across cloud platforms(AWS, GCP, Azure), leveraging both managed services (e.g., serverless,managed databases) and self-managed infrastructure (containers,Kubernetes, observability stacks, etc.).? Define best practices for data streaming (Kafka, Pub/Sub, Kinesis)and batch processing pipelines, enabling real-time insights andreporting.
Analytics Enablement
? Enable the analytics and data science teams by building robust datainfrastructure, including data lakes, ETL pipelines, and real-timedashboards.? Automate data workflows and operational processes for highefficiency and reliability.? Collaborate with analytics leadership to ensure data governance,quality, and observability.
- System Architecture & Scalability: Drive decisions that enable modular,
distributed systems and event-driven architectures.
- Innovation for Sustainability: Champion adoption of emerging
technologies to optimize energy efficiency, reduce emissions, and deliver
