Head of Design

STAGE is India's first OTT platform dedicated to dialect-based content, bringing hyper-local stories, music, and entertainment in regional languages such as Haryanvi, Rajasthani, and Bhojpuri to millions of users. The platform is on a mission to create India's largest platform for dialect-based storytelling, where design plays a crucial role in enhancing user experiences during this revolutionary journey. As the Head of Design Product at STAGE, you will be responsible for leading and expanding the product design function. This role involves overseeing the end-to-end user experience on web and mobile platforms, collaborating closely with Product, Engineering, Content, and Marketing teams to deliver top-tier OTT experiences deeply rooted in regional culture and user empathy. Your responsibilities will include leading a growing team of product designers, fostering a culture of design thinking and user empathy within the company, defining the product design strategy aligned with STAGE's brand and user requirements, ensuring consistency in UI/UX across various platforms, translating complex ideas into intuitive design solutions, conducting usability testing and user research, managing STAGE's design system and brand guidelines, and more. To excel in this role, you should have at least 8 years of experience in UI/UX/Product Design, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership position. A strong portfolio demonstrating mobile-first and OTT product design, a deep understanding of user behavior in video streaming and consumer internet products, proficiency in modern design tools, and the ability to work effectively in agile environments are essential. Additionally, a passion for regional content, culture, and user behavior in Bharat, along with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment, are highly desirable. Prior experience in an OTT, entertainment, or content-driven product, familiarity with design for Smart TV or unconventional screen experiences, and an understanding of Indian dialects, user diversity, and local content consumption patterns are considered advantageous.
