Job Description

Job Title: Head of Data Engineering Industry: Electric Vehicle (EV) Industry (Mandatory Experience) Location: Pune, India Notice Period: 30 Days Maximum Role Overview: As the Head of Data Engineering , you will be responsible for building and scaling our data engineering capabilities, managing data architecture, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization. You will lead a high-performing team of data engineers and collaborate with analytics, product, and technology teams to deliver scalable, high-quality data solutions. Key Responsibilities: Lead the design, development, and optimization of data pipelines and architectures to support analytics, ML/AI, and business intelligence. Build and maintain scalable data platforms in line with business goals and EV industry standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure robust data integration across internal systems and third-party platforms. Define data governance standards, data quality checks, and best practices. Drive the selection and implementation of modern data tools, platforms, and technologies. Mentor and manage a growing team of data engineers, providing technical guidance and career development support. Ensure compliance with data privacy, security, and regulatory requirements relevant to the EV sector. Own the data roadmap and contribute to data strategy and innovation initiatives. Requirements: 10+ years of experience in Data Engineering with 3+ years in a leadership role. Mandatory experience in the Electric Vehicle (EV) industry or related domains (e.g., Automotive, Mobility, Energy). Proven experience designing and building large-scale data pipelines, data lakes, and warehouses. Strong expertise in cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure), distributed systems, and big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Kafka, Hadoop). Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and real-time data streaming. Hands-on experience with programming languages like Python, Scala, or Java. Strong knowledge of SQL and modern data tools (e.g., dbt, Airflow, Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery). Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
