Overview

The Hosteller is India&aposs leading D2C backpacker hostel brand, driven by the spirit of community, travel and storytelling. With an ever-growing network of hostels across India, we thrive on bold, experiential content that captures the essence of youth travel and community living. We are seeking a visionary and strategic Brand & content head to lead our multidisciplinary content team (textual, motion and visual) - comprising video producers, graphic designers, content writers, and scriptwriters. This role will be responsible for defining and executing the brands content strategy across platforms, ensuring consistency, quality, and innovation in all creative outputs.

Key responsibilities

  • Understand hospitality, travel & tourism, food & beverage service sectors
  • Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive content strategy aligned with brand goals, campaign priorities, and business growth
  • Oversee the video, graphics, and editorial/content writing teams to ensure cohesive and high-performing storytelling across all formats
  • Define and uphold brand voice, tone, and aesthetics across all creative assetsvideo, visual design, and copy
  • Drive ideation and creative execution for marketing campaigns, reels, social content, product launches, community initiatives, and branded experiences
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (marketing, product, operations) to ensure content supports strategic objectives
  • Set quality benchmarks, establish workflows, and implement scalable content production systems
  • Mentor and manage a team of senior creatives, ensuring a high standard of creative direction, execution, and team performance
  • Monitor content performance across platforms using analytics tools and continuously optimize content strategy
  • Stay up to date with global trends in travel, youth culture, content marketing, and digital storytelling

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in content strategy, brand storytelling, or creative direction roles, preferably in D2C, travel, media, or lifestyle sectors
  • Proven experience managing and mentoring cross-functional creative teams (video, design, writing)
  • Strong storytelling instincts, creative thinking, and deep understanding of social and digital media platforms
  • Excellent visual and editorial sensibility with a strong portfolio showcasing multi-format creative projects
  • Proficiency in content planning tools, editorial workflows, and collaboration platforms (e.g., Trello, Notion, Monday.com)
  • Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills
  • Ability to balance strategic oversight with creative hands-on involvement
