Job Description

The Head of Government Affairs / Relations will be the strategic link between Nothing (including CMF) and India s regulatory and policy ecosystem. As the company scales its India manufacturing base and global ambitions, this role will ensure that our operations and growth plans align with government priorities while actively influencing favorable policy outcomes.The individual will be responsible for managing relationships with central and state governments, regulatory bodies, and industry associations, while also ensuring internal compliance across all regulatory frameworks. A key responsibility will be to champion participation in government-led initiatives such as PLI schemes, Make in India programs, and digital economy missions. The role requires both advocacy ensuring the company s voice is heard in policy formulation and execution driving internal compliance and alignment with regulatory expectations. This is a highly strategic role that blends policy expertise with business acumen. The ideal candidate will bring a strong network across government and industry, deep knowledge of India s technology policy landscape, and the ability to balance Nothing commercial goals with national regulatory priorities.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with government ministries (MeitY, DoT) and regulatory authorities.
  • Monitor and analyze policy, regulatory, and legislative developments impacting electronics, smartphones, AIoT, and telecom sectors.
  • Represent Nothing + CMF in industry councils, policy forums, and government meetings to advocate company positions.
  • Drive compliance with laws, regulations, PLI scheme requirements, and other government-led initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (legal, supply chain, hardware, software, marketing, operations) to integrate government affairs into business strategy.
  • Prepare and present policy briefs, advocacy notes, and regulatory updates for leadership.
  • Manage complex issues such as taxation, import-export policies, spectrum matters, and labor compliance.
  • Lead government-level interventions during regulatory or compliance-related crises.

Requirements:

  • masters degree in Public Policy, Law, Political Science, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 10+ years experience in government relations, corporate affairs, or policy advocacy (preferably in technology / telecom / electronics).
  • Established network with key policymakers, regulators, and industry associations.
  • Strong knowledge of India s regulatory and compliance landscape (electronics, FDI, data protection, telecom, PLI).
  • Proven ability to influence policy outcomes and resolve regulatory challenges.
  • Excellent communication, lobbying, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong drafting ability (policy notes, white papers, advocacy briefs).
  • High integrity, discretion, and ability to manage politically sensitive environments.
