Head Credit Risk Retail and SME

The role requires you to lead and manage the credit risk management team responsible for underwriting all products within the Retail Banking and SME portfolio across PAN India. Your primary focus will be to ensure effective credit risk management and adherence to underwriting policies and procedures. You will work closely with the leadership to create and implement strategies, operational plans, and budget allocations for the credit risk function. Your responsibilities will include conducting strategic credit risk assessments, analyzing credit proposals, and ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines and risk management frameworks. You will be involved in managing the credit decision-making processes, monitoring portfolio quality, and implementing corrective actions as necessary. Building and maintaining relationships with key customers and stakeholders to drive business growth will also be a key aspect of your role. In addition to risk management and credit appraisal, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining documentation standards, conducting audits for compliance, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance. Managing operational risk, overseeing audits, and implementing business continuity plans to minimize disruptions will also fall under your purview. To qualify for this role, you should have a Master's degree in business, finance, or a related field. Professional certifications such as Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Financial Risk Manager (FRM) are preferred. A minimum of 18+ years of experience in credit risk management, with at least 5 years in leadership roles, is required. Prior experience in credit underwriting and managing credit risk for retail asset products and SME portfolios in large banks is essential.
