Job Description

To lead and oversee the end-to-end production of copper rods, ensuring optimal efficiency, quality, cost control, and compliance with safety and environmental standards. Responsible for achieving production targets, improving process performance, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:Production & Operations Management

Plan, manage, and monitor the entire copper rod production process (casting, rolling, drawing, annealing, etc.).
Ensure adherence to production schedules and achieve monthly and annual output targets.
Monitor key process parameters to ensure consistent product quality as per IS/IEC/ASTM standards.
Optimize machine utilization and minimize downtime.

Process Improvement & Technology

Implement process optimization techniques (Lean, Six Sigma, TPM) to improve yield and reduce wastage.
Identify bottlenecks and initiate corrective actions for productivity improvement.
Collaborate with R&D/Engineering for technology upgrades and product innovation.

Quality & Compliance

Ensure adherence to ISO, BIS, and other quality management systems.
Drive root cause analysis (RCA) for quality deviations and customer complaints.
Maintain compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards.

People & Resource Management

Lead, train, and develop production team members across shifts.
Coordinate with maintenance, quality, and supply chain teams for seamless operations.
Ensure adherence to manpower planning and performance management.

Cost & Efficiency

Manage production cost budgets and track key performance indicators (KPIs).
Control raw material and energy consumption.
Support procurement in evaluating and maintaining raw material quality.

Qualifications & Experience:

B.E. / B.Tech in Metallurgy / Mechanical / Electrical / Production Engineering.
