Role Overview: As a Hardware Network Engineer, your role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining hardware-based network infrastructure to ensure smooth data communication and security. This includes tasks like installing and configuring routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices, as well as troubleshooting network issues and optimizing performance. Key Responsibilities: - Network Design and Implementation: Plan and implement network infrastructure, including hardware components like routers, switches, firewalls, and servers. - Hardware Installation and Configuration: Install and configure network hardware, ensuring proper settings and protocols are in place. - Network Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Regularly maintain network hardware, resolve network problems, and optimize network performance. - Security: Implement and maintain security measures such as firewalls and antivirus software to protect network data. - Documentation: Document network configurations, processes, and troubleshooting steps for future reference. - Performance Monitoring: Monitor network performance and identify areas for improvement. Qualifications Required: - Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of networking protocols, hardware components, and operating systems. - Problem-solving: Ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues. - Communication: Excellent communication skills to explain technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences. - Experience: Typically requires 3+ years of experience in network administration, system integration, or a related role. - Education: A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is often required.
