Job Description: GSE Maintenance Supervisor Airport Maintenance Project Position: Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Maintenance Supervisor Location: Muharraq, Kingdom of Bahrain Job Type: Full-time/Contract Salary: Competitive Based on Experience Reports to: GSE Engineer / Maintenance Manager Industry: Airport Maintenance / Water Treatment Job Summary: The Shift Leader GSE Maintenance is responsible for overseeing the daily maintenance and operation of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) during assigned shifts. This role ensures that all GSE, including Pre-Conditioned Air (PCA) units, air compressors, and mechanical/electrical airport equipment, is functioning efficiently. The Shift Leader supervises a team of technicians, ensures compliance with safety regulations, and provides hands-on troubleshooting support. Qualifications & Experience: Education Minimum Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related technical field. Experience Minimum 5 years of experience in the maintenance and operation of GSE systems. Hands-on experience in PCA units, air compressors, and other airport ground equipment. Preferred Skills: Strong technical knowledge of GSE systems and troubleshooting techniques. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for reporting and documentation. Good communication and leadership skills in English. Ability to work in a fast-paced airport environment and handle emergency situations. Certifications & Training Tradesmen certification in GSE maintenance and operation is required. Certification in PCA and air compressor maintenance is preferred. Key Responsibilities: 1. Supervision & Shift Management ? Oversee the daily operations and maintenance of GSE during assigned shifts. ? Assign tasks to technicians and ensure timely completion of maintenance activities. ? Monitor shift activities and ensure that maintenance schedules are followed. ? Act as the first point of contact for troubleshooting and resolving technical issues. 2. Maintenance & Troubleshooting ? Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on GSE, including PCA units, air compressors, and other ground equipment. ? Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults. ? Ensure proper usage of tools, diagnostic equipment, and maintenance manuals. ? Coordinate with engineers and supervisors for escalated maintenance issues. 3. Compliance & Safety ? Ensure all maintenance activities comply with airport regulations, safety protocols, and manufacturer guidelines. ? Conduct routine safety inspections, risk assessments, and compliance checks. ? Maintain records of maintenance activities, safety reports, and compliance documentation. ? Ensure proper usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adherence to workplace safety standards. 4. Reporting & Documentation ? Maintain detailed records of maintenance schedules, service logs, and spare parts inventory. ? Prepare reports on equipment performance, maintenance trends, and downtime analysis. ? Use MAXIMO or similar CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to track work orders and maintenance history. ? Provide updates to senior engineers and management on key maintenance activities and challenges. 5. Team Coordination & Training ? Guide and mentor technicians on equipment handling, troubleshooting, and maintenance best practices. ? Ensure proper coordination between teams for seamless shift transitions. ? Conduct on-the-job training for junior staff as required. 6. Work Environment: ? Work will be conducted in airport hangars, ramps, and outdoor maintenance areas. ? Requires flexibility in working hours, including weekends and emergency call-outs ? Ability to lift and handle heavy equipment as needed. ? Requires adherence to airport safety and security regulations. 7. Safety & Compliance: ? Ensure compliance with international and local regulations. ? Follow environmental and safety protocols for handling CHEMICAL and hazardous materials. ? Conduct risk assessments and emergency response planning for GSE Plant failures.
