NammaKart is a neighbourhood grocery store serving the SSN College staff and the surrounding residential community. We focus on fresh produce, quality groceries, fair pricing, and reliable service. We are looking for a responsible and proactive Store Supervisor who can take full ownership of day-to-day store operations and procurement.

Role Overview

The Store Supervisor will be fully responsible for running the store operations on a daily basis and managing the procurement of vegetables, fruits, and grocery items. This role requires someone who is hands-on, disciplined, trustworthy, and capable of managing vendors, staff, inventory, and customers independently, while coordinating closely with the Store Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Store Operations

• Take complete charge of daily store operations
• Ensure smooth opening, closing, and overall functioning of the store
• Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and proper product display
• Handle customer queries, complaints, and ensure good service standards

Procurement & Vendor Management

• Procure vegetables, fruits, and grocery items on a regular basis
• Visit local markets / suppliers as required for fresh procurement
• Manage vendor relationships and negotiate prices where possible
• Ensure quality checks for all incoming stock
• Maintain purchase records and coordinate with the manager on pricing

Inventory & Stock Control

• Monitor stock levels and avoid out-of-stock situations
• Track fast-moving and slow-moving items
• Reduce wastage, especially in fruits and vegetables
• Ensure proper FIFO (First In, First Out) practices

Staff Coordination

• Supervise and guide store staff
• Ensure staff discipline, punctuality, and task completion
• Allocate daily duties and monitor performance

Reporting & Coordination

• Coordinate closely with the Store Manager / Owner
• Provide daily or weekly updates on sales, stock, and issues
• Assist in basic billing, cash handling, and reconciliation if required

Work Schedule

• Working Days: 6 days a week
• Weekly Off: 1 day
• Work Timings: 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM
• Work Location: SSN College Campus

Candidate Requirements

• Experience in grocery store / supermarket / retail operations preferred
• Prior experience in procurement or vendor handling is a strong advantage
• Basic knowledge of fruits, vegetables, and grocery items
• Ability to work independently and take ownership
• Good communication and people-management skills
• Honest, reliable, and detail-oriented
• Basic reading/writing skills (English/Tamil); billing system knowledge is a plus
