Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Plan, Direct, and Control Fabrication Activities: Develop and implement detailed plans for each phase of hull fabrication, ensuring compliance with shipbuilding schedules, cost targets, and technical specifications.

2. Manage Steel Preparation and Cutting Operations: Oversee the preparation, cutting, and shaping of steel plates, ensuring accurate execution according to design blueprints and specifications.

3. Supervise TTS Panel Production and Block Fabrication: Lead the production of TTS panels and block assembly, ensuring they meet structural integrity requirements and project timelines.

4. Oversee Blasting and Painting Operations: Manage surface preparation and painting to ensure proper adherence, corrosion resistance, and longevity of hull components.

5. Implement Quality and Safety Standards: Establish protocols to ensure quality at each production stage, with a strong focus on safety procedures to minimize risks to personnel and property.

6. Coordinate with Engineering for Technical Specifications: Collaborate closely with the engineering team to interpret blueprints and adjust fabrication plans to accommodate technical changes or improvements.

7. Conduct Inspections and Troubleshooting: Inspect finished hull components to verify compliance with quality and specifications, troubleshoot and address any deviations as necessary.

8. Report Production Status to Senior Management: Provide regular updates on production status, challenges, and key metrics to senior management, recommending actions as needed to stay on track with objectives.

9. Ensure Compliance with Maritime Standards: Oversee adherence to industry and regulatory standards, including ISO, classification society requirements, and customer-specific standards.

10. Manage Day-to-Day Operations: Ensure that departmental operations comply with relevant processes and procedures. Monitor and control deployment of manpower, and resources including the second shift and/or third/ night shift and emergent work on site/ shop on non-working days.

11. Oversee Resource Management: Take responsibility for the effective management of raw materials, equipment logistics, human resources, and administrative processes.

12. Review Scope of Work: Establish production objectives, standards, and schedules to ensure timely delivery of all projects.

13. Liaise with Project Managers, Clients, and Class Societies: Engage in discussions regarding project matters to resolve any issues.

14. Drive Continuous Improvement: Lead efforts for process improvement and change management.

15. Accurate Record Keeping for Billing: Ensure that all activities are accurately documented for billing purposes.

16. Ensure Value Chain Efficiency: Maintain value chain principles throughout the production process.

17. Authorize Purchases: Approve the procurement of equipment, spare parts, and materials as necessary.
