Role: Graduate Engineer Trainee -Safety Location: Kakkalur, Chennai Employment Type: Full-time, Entry-Level / Fresher Key Responsibilities Support EHS Program Implementation Help develop and execute health, safety, and environmental procedures aimed at reducing on-/off-the-job injuries and illnesses Assist with ISO 14001 (environmental) and ISO 50001 (energy) compliance audits . Participate in the Global Star Safety Framework via hazard identification, job hazard analyses, and ergonomic risk assessments Site Inspections & Incident Handling Support regular safety inspections, workplace audits, and mock drills (e.g., fire, evacuation). Assist EHS team with incident investigationsdocument root causes and help define corrective/preventive actions Monitor environmental systems: effluent treatment, fire protection, and energy usage supports Training & Communication Aid in delivery of safety training: PPE usage, lock-out/tag-out, industrial hygiene, emergency planning Promote a proactive culture: participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and employee engagement campaigns Compliance & Liaison Support liaising with internal teams and local authorities for environmental permits (air/water, hazardous waste) and fire compliance Maintain and update EHS documentation, observation logs, and compliance records. Desired Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Environmental). Freshers or up to 1year of experience in the manufacturing domain are welcome. Strong interest in EHS principles and regulatory compliance (ISO 14001/50001). Good communication, analytical thinking, and reporting skills.
