Geotechnical Engineer

You will be working as a Geotechnical Engineer in the Geotechnical & Heavy Civil Engineering department of Dar Al-Handasah (Shair and Partners). Your role will involve the following responsibilities and skillsets: - Strong technical capability in geotechnical services, including planning subsurface investigation, reviewing geotechnical factual reports, determining geotechnical design parameters, foundation design, excavation support systems, slope stability analysis, and ground improvement techniques. - Knowledge of MSE wall design and exposure to international codes and standards. - Proficiency in common geotechnical software. - Attending technical meetings with Clients and Contractors to resolve design and construction issues, conducting value engineering exercises, and addressing queries and comments. - Excellent organizational, report writing, and verbal communication skills are necessary. - Experience in supervising, guiding, developing, and mentoring junior staff. - Previous project management experience is highly desirable, showcasing professional judgment, consistency, attention to detail, and successful completion of projects. - Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems effectively. Requirements for this position include: - 10 to 18 years of experience as a Geotechnical/Senior Geotechnical Engineer in a reputable Engineering Consulting firm. - Strong technical background with a diverse range of project experience. Preferred Qualifications: - A university degree in civil (geotechnical) or geological engineering from an accredited university. A PhD in the Geotechnical field will be considered an added advantage.
