General surgeon consultant

About The Opportunity

• Provide consultant-level preoperative assessment, operative care and postoperative management for general surgery patients across elective and emergency settings.
• Perform a broad range of procedures including laparoscopic and open abdominal surgeries, hernia repairs, appendectomies, cholecystectomies and urgent trauma interventions.
• Lead emergency theatre calls and manage trauma admissions, triage, stabilization and definitive surgical treatment as required.
• Supervise and mentor junior surgeons, residents and nursing staff; enforce operating theatre protocols, infection control and patient-safety standards.
• Collaborate with anaesthesia, critical care and specialty teams to optimise perioperative pathways and reduce length of stay and complications.
• Maintain accurate clinical records, participate in morbidity & mortality reviews and support continuous quality-improvement initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

• MBBS plus DNB/MS in General Surgery (or equivalent) — required for consultant-level practice.
• Valid medical registration to practise in India and eligibility to work in Andhra Pradesh.
• Proven clinical experience in a hospital surgical department with exposure to emergency/trauma caseloads; strong operative log demonstrating laparoscopic and open procedures.
