Job Profile & Key Responsibilities

1. Operations Management & Production:

Oversee all daily plant activities: raw material handling, blending, packaging, warehousing, and dispatch.

Develop and implement processes to boost productivity, reduce downtime, and enhance performance.

Ensure production targets are met efficiently, on time, and within budget.

2. Quality & Compliance:

Maintain strict adherence to quality standards (ISO 9001, API) and regulatory requirements (HSE).

Implement quality control measures, analyze production reports, and address non-conformities.

Manage lubricant specifications, ensuring optimal selection for cost, performance, and environmental factors.

3. Financial & Strategic Management:

Manage budgets, control costs, and optimize resource (material, machine, staff) utilization.

Work with upper management to set strategic goals and implement company-wide initiatives.

Oversee capital expenditure (capex) projects and manage vendor contracts.

4. Leadership & Team Development:

Provide inspirational leadership, foster high morale, and build strong relationships.

Lead and develop teams across production, supply chain, and QHSE.

Promote a culture of continuous improvement (Lean, Six Sigma) and a zero-incident safety culture.

5. Maintenance & Reliability:

Oversee the operation and maintenance of plant equipment and machinery.

Implement preventive maintenance programs and strategies for lubricant effectiveness.

The General Manager (GM) for a Project Lube Blending Plant serves as the top executive leader in a specialized manufacturing facility focused on blending lubricants, such as producing bulk products from base oils, additives, and other components to meet industrial and customer demands. This role demands a blend of strategic oversight, operational expertise, and hands-on leadership to drive efficiency, safety, and profitability in a high-volume, regulated environment like the petroleum or chemical industry. The GM is accountable for the plant's overall performance, including production targets, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and team management, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
