Key Responsibilities:
- Maintaining General Ledger: Updating and maintaining the general ledger, which includes recording all transactions, adjusting entries, and reconciling accounts.
- Accounts Payable (AP): Managing accounts payable by processing invoices, verifying expenses, and ensuring timely payment to vendors and suppliers.
- Accounts Receivable (AR): Handling accounts receivable by generating invoices, tracking payments, and following up on overdue accounts.
- Bank Reconciliation: Daily reconciliation of bank statements with the general ledger to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Financial Reporting: Assisting in the preparation of financial reports for internal and external stakeholders, such as management reports, tax filings, and regulatory compliance.
- Audit Support: Assisting with internal and external audits by providing documentation, explanations, and support as needed.
- Variance Analysis: Analyzing variances between budgeted and actual expenses or revenues and providing explanations for the differences.
- Financial Analysis: Conducting financial analysis to evaluate business performance, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvement.
- Tax Compliance: Ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations by preparing and filing tax returns (TDS/GST/Income Tax), as well as providing support during tax audits.
- Process Improvement: Identifying opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in accounting operations.
- Communication: Communicating effectively with colleagues, management, vendors, and other stakeholders regarding financial matters.
- Recording Transactions: Documenting financial transactions by entering account information into accounting software or ledgers.
- Preparing Financial Statements: Generating financial statements like balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements to reflect the financial position and performance of the company.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Supporting the budgeting and forecasting process by providing financial data and analysis to help management make informed decisions.
- Internal Controls: Implementing and monitoring internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations and policies.
Technical / Desired Skills:
- Thorough knowledge of English & familiarity with IGAAP
- Strong skills in analyzing financial data and generating detailed reports.
IT/Software skills required:
- Knowledge of Tally ERP, SAP B1 and DMS.
- Excellent IT skills - advanced Excel, MS Word, and presentation skills.
Behavioral Competencies desired:
