GCP Data Engineer

Job Title: GCP Data Engineer Location: Remote Job Type: Contract / Full-Time Experience Required: 5+ Years About the Role: We are seeking a skilled GCP Data Engineer to design and implement robust data pipelines and solutions using Google Cloud Platform. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in data engineering, ETL development, and real-time data processing in GCP. Key Responsibilities: - Design and build scalable, efficient data pipelines using GCP services (BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Dataproc, Cloud Composer). - Develop and manage data models and warehouses using BigQuery. - Write efficient SQL and Python code for data ingestion, transformation, and validation. - Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and governance practices. - Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to deliver business-critical data solutions. - Use CI/CD tools and Terraform for infrastructure automation and deployment. - Optimize queries and pipeline performance for large-scale datasets. Required Skills: - Strong experience with GCP services: BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Dataproc, Cloud Storage. - Proficient in Python and SQL for data engineering tasks. - Experience with orchestration tools such as Cloud Composer (Apache Airflow). - Hands-on experience with Spark and PySpark. - Familiarity with Git, CI/CD workflows, and infrastructure as code (Terraform preferred). - Solid understanding of data modeling (Star, Snowflake schemas), ETL/ELT concepts. Preferred: - Experience in real-time data streaming and analytics. - Exposure to Snowflake, Kafka, or other cloud-native data tools. - Previous experience in Agile environments Show more Show less
