GBS - Lead Record To Report - Thane

Role Summary :-

As the GBS RTR Lead, you will be responsible for leading a team of General Ledger Accountants within the Global Business Services (GBS) center. This role ensures accurate and timely financial reporting for multiple legal entities in compliance with both local statutory and Group requirements. The role focuses on operational excellence in the RTR function, driving process standardization, SAP system adoption, team performance, and seamless onboarding of new entities into the SSC.

Key Responsibilities :-

1. Team Leadership and Performance Management

Lead and mentor a team of GL Accountants, ensuring task prioritization and workload balance. • Set objectives, monitor KPIs, and conduct regular performance reviews. • Provide guidance on complex accounting issues, audit queries, and statutory compliance. • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration.

2. GL Accounting & Financial Reporting Oversight

Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes. • Review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports prepared by the team. • Oversee IFRS 16 and IAS 19 accounting treatments where applicable. • Validate compliance with internal controls, Group reporting requirements, and local GAAP.

3. RTR Process Ownership and Continuous Improvement

Own the end-to-end RTR process including intercompany, fixed assets, and equity reconciliations. • Drive standardization and process excellence across entities within the GBS. • Implement best practices, optimize workflows, and monitor adherence to SOPs. • Support implementation of KPIs and service-level agreements (SLAs).

4. SAP S/4HANA Implementation & Systems Support

• Act as the RTR functional lead for SAP accounting configuration and deployment. • Partner with IT and project teams on UAT, data migration, and process mapping. • Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) in SAP finance modules for the GL team. • Ensure effective training and change management for new system rollouts.

5. Onboarding of New Entities into GBS

• Lead and coordinate the onboarding of legal entities into the GBS model. • Review and validate migration of GL balances, fixed assets, Customer, Suppliers Master Data and AP/AR data. • Ensure alignment with Group accounting policies and GBS processes. • Collaborate with local finance teams to ensure a seamless transition.

6. Stakeholder Engagement and Governance

• Act as the primary point of contact for auditors, tax advisors, and local finance teams. • Ensure proper governance and compliance for all RTR activities. • Support external, internal audits, including statutory audits. • Coordinate responses to audit queries and ensure timely closure of action items.

7. Operational Controls and Compliance

• Design, implement, and monitor internal control procedures to ensure integrity of the RTR process. • Ensure full compliance with internal audit, SOX, and regulatory requirements. • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks within the RTR function. • Maintain comprehensive documentation of accounting processes and control mechanisms.

Minimum 810 years of experience in GL/RTR roles, including 3+ years in a people management capacity.

Strong knowledge of IFRS; understanding of tax and audit frameworks.

Hands-on experience in SAP S/4HANA; prior ERP implementation is a plus.

Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Experience in a shared service center or multinational environment is essential.
