Job Description

  • Ensure smooth and timely registration of patients (IPD, OPD, Daycare, Emergency).
  • Collect and verify all required documents (ID proofs, insurance/TPA forms, referral letters).
  • Generate Unique Hospital Identification (UHID) numbers and admission slips.
  • Explain admission process, rules, and patient rights/responsibilities.
  • Collect advance deposits as per hospital policy and issue receipts.
  • Verify insurance/TPA documents and coordinate for pre-authorization.
  • Inform billing department regarding admission details for financial clearance.
  • Coordinate with nursing staff, treating consultants, and housekeeping for bed allocation.
  • Update concerned departments (OT, ICU, ward) about admissions in real time.
  • Maintain effective communication with patients and attendants regarding hospital policies.
  • Provide courteous, empathetic, and professional assistance to patients/attendants.
  • Guide patients/relatives regarding hospital facilities, visiting hours, and processes.
  • Handle grievances/complaints at the front line and escalate unresolved issues.
  • Maintain accurate admission records in HIS (Hospital Information System).
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, NABH/JCI standards, and legal requirements.
  • Safeguard confidentiality of patient information.
  • Minimize waiting time for patient admissions.
  • Maintain admission registers and MIS reports for daily/weekly/monthly tracking.
  • Ensure proper handover during shift change.
  • Manage emergency admissions promptly with minimal documentation delay.
  • Coordinate with critical care/OT team for immediate admissions.
  • Ensure priority handling for VIP/Corporate/Medico-Legal cases.
