Front End Operator Cum Maintainer

In this role as a Front End Operator reporting to the Shift Manager at Ball, a world leader in manufacturing sustainable aluminum packaging, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance of front end equipment in the can-making line. Your primary focus will be on the operation, maintenance, and process issues of front end equipment such as Cupper, Body makers & trimmers. Here are the key responsibilities associated with this position: - Ensure the operation of front end equipment is optimized for speed and efficiency - Conduct safety checks on power presses within the first two hours of the shift - Perform daily operation and maintenance checks, taking corrective actions as needed - Ensure quality specifications of cans produced are met, conducting quality checks and taking corrective actions for any deviations - Maintain front end area and equipment according to housekeeping and hygiene standards - Address spoilage concerns and take swift action to rectify abnormal conditions - Collaborate with the engineering team for maintenance activities and changeovers - Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and drive area improvement agenda Qualifications required for this role include a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Toolroom Technology or ITI in any trade, along with at least 4 years of relevant experience in production and maintenance activities. You should have the ability to work shifts and extended hours when necessary, possess computer literacy skills, and have a good understanding of health and safety work practices. Additionally, basic mechanical knowledge, knowledge of measuring equipment, and manufacturing background in a high-speed continuous process are essential for this position.
