The LNG Process Engineer is a crucial member of the Process Engineering and Automation team at Chevron's ENGINE Center. In this role, you will be responsible for offering process engineering support to Chevron's business units engaged in Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) operations. Your primary tasks will involve troubleshooting and optimizing existing operating assets, providing process design support to capital projects, and creating and implementing digital tools to enhance process monitoring. You will play a key role in providing timely technical service consultation to LNG operating assets and capital project teams. This includes supporting new asset development and addressing operational issues in existing projects and assets. Your responsibilities will also include reviewing and enhancing designs for operability, reliability, and ease of maintenance, as well as supporting early phase project design execution by developing process documents like heat and material balances and process datasheets. Additionally, you will be tasked with developing and managing detailed process simulation models to assess design and operating scenarios. Your role will involve supporting day-to-day operations by offering engineering analysis and process troubleshooting of equipment items using data analytics and process monitoring tools. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to engage in on-the-job training and development through mentoring with Chevron's Technical Center (CTC) counterparts. The ideal candidate for this position should have experience with various LNG technologies such as Air Products and Chemicals Propane Precooled Mixed Refrigerant Process (APCI C3/MR), ConocoPhillips Optimized Cascade Process, and Chart IPSMR. A Bachelor's degree (B.E./B. Tech) in chemical engineering or a related field from a recognized university is required. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential to effectively interact with Chevron's global employee workforce. Preferred qualifications include 5-10+ years of process engineering experience in LNG or petrochemical process facilities, with a focus on operation support engineering assignments or process design work for capital projects. Experience in performing analytical calculations related to mass transfer, fluid flow, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, process control, kinetics, and equipment sizing is highly valued. Familiarity with the front end of LNG plants, process monitoring tools, and process modeling software (e.g., PI, Seeq, Hysys) is advantageous. Awareness of Process Safety Management concepts and principles is also beneficial. Chevron's ENGINE Center supports global operations to meet business requirements worldwide.
