Freight Broker Agent

As a highly motivated and detail-oriented Freight Agent, your role will involve serving as an intermediary between shippers and carriers to effectively coordinate and manage freight shipments. You will be responsible for tasks such as sourcing carriers, negotiating rates, booking shipments, tracking deliveries, and maintaining strong customer relationships. Key Responsibilities: - Coordinate and schedule freight shipments with carriers and shippers. - Negotiate shipping rates to ensure profitability on each load. - Maintain regular communication with carriers for timely pickups and deliveries. - Track and trace shipments, providing status updates to clients. - Develop and sustain a book of business through cold calling and lead generation. - Ensure all shipments adhere to DOT and company policies. - Manage shipping documentation including BOLs, invoices, and carrier agreements. - Address and resolve any issues or delays in transit promptly and professionally. Qualifications: - Proven experience as a freight agent, freight broker, or in a logistics-related role. - Strong understanding of transportation and logistics industry practices. - Excellent negotiation, communication, and customer service abilities. - Proficiency in using load boards (e.g., DAT, Truckstop), CRM tools, and TMS systems. - Self-starter with the capacity to work independently and achieve targets. - High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelors degree preferred). Preferred Skills: - Possessing an existing book of business is a significant advantage. - Previous experience as a Freight Broker. - Familiarity with carrier compliance and safety regulations. You will be eligible for performance incentives and bonuses in this full-time position, working the night shift or US shift with the possibility of a performance bonus.
