Freelance Architect

A creative and innovative free-lance architect with a minimum experience of 10 years

A leading real estate company with operations in Bangalore and Chennai is seeking an architect experienced in the following fields: innovative design encompassing biophilic elements, implementation of artificial intelligence, quality control and bill of quantities, and usage of futuristic building materials, including maximum usage of locally sourced materials. The candidate will be able to work alongside leading architectural firms based out of India.

The role can be on an assignment or individual project basis in Bangalore and Chennai. The organization will support the role in terms of in-house architects, QC/ QS teams, contracts and procurement, etc.

Keeping the above three parameters in mind, the role definition is laid out below:

1. The Architectural / Design Coordinator is responsible for on-time drawing deliverables.

2. Review the drawings and other deliverables from Architects and Consultants and provide technical feedback.

3. This role will liaise closely with the Architecture, Structural, landscape, and MEP design teams.

4. Ensure that Buildable Shop Drawings/GFCs are issued timely to the project site team.

5. Ensure drawings produced by the consultants and vendors/subcontractors are accurate and timely, and in alignment with the project timeline.

6. Identify Shop drawing Discrepancies, Buildability and impact on different Disciplines.

7. Relate Design Intent from Architect / Design Consultant to buildable construction shop drawing

8. Aware of Local & National Bylaws, Norms, and Building codes.

9. Responsible for the on-time release of Design Brief reports, BOQs and technical Details, Concepts, and essential tender Packages from all design Stakeholders.

10. Ensure the Design Intent on critical dimensions is highlighted and the details are workable, including Coordinating with other Vendors.

11. Liaise with the Architect, Design Consultant, and site execution team on design intent, technical specifications, and issues, if any.

12. Design Coordination between architect and other design consultants, including Landscape, MEP, and structural, ensuring Drawings are in line with all coordination, and releasing such construction drawings to the site.

13. Identify and Implement Design Improvements (Functionality, Cost, Design for Manufacture)

14. Coordinate between the internal team and Design consultants on the preparation of Approval drawings

15. Ensure all the approval drawings align with Local and National Building Codes, Bylaws & Norms.

16. Preparation of Feasibility Reports.

17. Preparation of Area statements.

18. Coordinate with other internal teams and provide all design/technical-related support.
