Job Description

Foundry Manager High Pressure Line

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Production

  • Lead and manage High Pressure Molding Line operations to meet daily, monthly, and annual production targets
  • Oversee end-to-end foundry processes including sand preparation, molding, melting, pouring, shakeout, fettling, and dispatch
  • Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, machines, materials, and utilities
  • Drive productivity improvement, cycle time reduction, and yield improvement initiatives

Process & Quality Control

  • Ensure adherence to metallurgical parameters, molding sand properties, and process standards
  • Monitor casting quality, reduce defects (blow holes, shrinkage, sand inclusions, etc.) through root cause analysis
  • Lead corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and continuous process improvement
  • Ensure compliance with customer quality requirements and standards (ISO / IATF / OEM requirements)

Equipment & Maintenance

  • Ensure high availability and reliability of High Pressure Molding Lines and auxiliary equipment
  • Coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance with engineering teams
  • Support commissioning of new machines, lines, and process upgrades

Cost, Safety & Compliance

  • Control foundry operating costs including sand, alloys, power, consumables, and rework
  • Ensure strict compliance with safety, environmental, and statutory regulations
  • Implement and sustain 5S, TPM, and safe work practices across the foundry

Leadership & People Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop production, quality, and maintenance teams
  • Manage manpower planning, shift allocation, training, and performance reviews
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement

New Product & Customer Support

  • Support new product development, trials, PPAP, and process validation
  • Interact with customers for audits, technical discussions, and issue resolution
  • Coordinate with machining, quality, and planning teams for seamless operations

Desired Skills & Competencies

  • Strong hands-on experience with

    High Pressure Molding Lines

  • In-depth knowledge of

    CI / SG Iron casting processes

  • Strong understanding of metallurgical control, sand systems, and defect analysis
  • Proven leadership and decision-making abilities
  • Exposure to lean manufacturing, TPM, and continuous improvement tools
  • Strong communication and cross-functional coordination skills
  • Familiarity with ERP/MIS systems

Experience Requirement

  • 15 to 20 years

    of total experience in foundry operations
  • Minimum

    7 to 10 years in a senior managerial role
