Formal Wear Designer (Men's & Women's)

Location: Mayapuri, New Delhi

Key Responsibilities & Expertise

• Design & Development:

• Design and develop comprehensive formal wear collections for both men and women, blending traditional aesthetics with modern, global trends.

• Maintain a focus on clean silhouettes and contemporary details across all designs.

• Men's Formal Wear Focus:

• Expert knowledge in designing and constructing men's suits, Tuxedos, Shirts, Bandhgalas, Nehru Jackets, Achkans, and Sherwanis.

• Strong sourcing skills for men’s specialized footwear and accessories.

• Women's Formal Wear Focus:

• Expertise in designing structured and draped blazers, tuxedo styles, skirts, pants, and pant suits.

• Designing sophisticated workwear, relaxed formals, and dresses with a modern, tailored finish.

• Technical & Research:

• Proficiency in creating designs via hand sketching and digital sketching/CAD.

• Conduct deep trend research and analysis specific to the formal wear market in India and internationally.

• Develop compelling Mood Boards and Story Boards to present and communicate design concepts.

• Fabric & Sourcing:

• In-depth, working knowledge of a diverse range of suiting and shirting fabrics (e.g., high-quality wools, silks, linens, technical blends).

• Ability to source high-quality materials, trims, and specialized components crucial for formal attire.

Qualifications

• Degree/Diploma in Fashion Design, Apparel Designing or Costume Designing

• 2-3 years of dedicated experience designing formal/structured apparel for men and women.

• A strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in both categories.
