Role Overview

We are seeking a

Food Processing Expert

to join HGK as part of the

core equity-based founding team

. This role is critical in

designing, innovating, and scaling food processing systems

for new-age gut-friendly products. You will work closely with product innovation, supply chain, and R&D teams to ensure our products are

nutritionally effective, safe, compliant, and scalable

.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and optimize food processing techniques for gut health and functional foods.
  • Work with R&D and Food Innovation team to scale recipes into production-ready processes.
  • Ensure Nutritional, Safety, FSSAI, and Compliance standards are met.
  • Innovate in preservation, shelf-life improvement, and packaging techniques for gut-friendly products.
  • Build SOPs for small-batch to large-scale production.
  • Research and integrate novel food processing technologies (fermentation, dehydration, micro-encapsulation, etc.) relevant to gut wellness.
  • Collaborate with vendors, manufacturers, and food labs for pilots and prototyping.
  • Develop cost-efficient, sustainable, and scalable processing models.

Who You Are

  • Background in Food Technology, Food Engineering, or Food Science.
  • 5–10 years of experience in food processing, R&D, or product scale-up.
  • Exposure to functional foods, nutraceuticals, probiotics, or gut-health products preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of FSSAI and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in taking products from lab to pilot to commercial scale.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset — excited to work in a startup ecosystem with equity compensation.
