Fire Hydrant Manager

A Fire Fighting & Fire Alarm System Project Manager is responsible for the complete lifecycle of fire protection and alarm system projects from design approval through execution, client handover, and after-project support. This role combines technical expertise, project management skills, regulatory compliance, and leadership to ensure safety, functionality, and timely delivery.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Technical Duties

1. System Design Oversight

• Review and approve fire alarm and fire suppression system designs (sprinklers, hydrants, pumps, detectors, etc.).
• Ensure compliance with international codes (NFPA, BS, ISO) and local authority requirements.

2. Coordination with Engineers and Consultants

• Work closely with MEP, civil, and architectural teams.
• Coordinate with consultants, third-party agencies, and authorities for design reviews and approvals.

3. Material Selection and Procurement

• Approve technical submittals and shop drawings.
• Ensure timely procurement of system components (pumps, panels, detectors, pipes, valves, etc.).

Project Execution Duties

4. Planning and Scheduling

• Develop project execution plans, timelines, and allocate resources.
• Monitor milestones and ensure timely project completion.

5. Site Supervision and Installation

• Supervise the site team during the installation of fire alarm and firefighting systems.
• Conduct routine site inspections to ensure quality and safety compliance.

6. Testing and Commissioning

• Lead system testing, commissioning, and handover.
• Coordinate with civil defense and third-party agencies for system certification and approval.

Administrative & Compliance Duties

7. Documentation, Billing, and Reporting

• Maintain project documentation: progress reports, RFIs, NCRs, inspection logs.
• Prepare RA and final bills for clients and approve vendor/supplier bills on time.

8. Budget and Cost Control

• Monitor costs, prevent budget overruns, and approve contractor invoices.

9. Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure project activities meet all regulatory, civil defense, and fire safety norms.
• Responsible for handling the complete Fire NOC process.

Stakeholder Coordination

10. Client and Stakeholder Communication

• Act as the primary client representative during the project.
• Conduct regular progress meetings and address issues proactively.

11. Team Leadership

• Lead and mentor engineers, supervisors, technicians, and subcontractors.
• Enforce quality, safety, and time discipline among the team.

Services (Post-Completion Support)

• Ensure smooth handover and provide comprehensive training to client teams.
• Responsible for managing Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC).
• Coordinate periodic system inspections, testing, and servicing.
• Attend to warranty period support and emergency service calls.
• Maintain service logs, safety documentation, and compliance certificates.
