Fire Hydrant Engineer

Job Title: Fire Hydrant Engineer

• Install fire hydrant systemsincluding pumps, valves, pipes, risers, landing valves, hose reel systems, and accessoriesstrictly as per approved drawings, design, and technical specifications.
• Test and commission hydrant systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.
• Assist in pump room installation, including pump alignment, electrical connections, and system calibration.

2. Inspection & Maintenance

• Conduct routine site inspections of hydrant systems to check performance, leakage, pressure levels, and system readiness.
• Perform

  preventive maintenance

  to avoid breakdowns and ensure long-term system reliability.
• Handle

  corrective maintenance

  by identifying system faults, diagnosing issues, and rectifying them promptly.
• Inspect and maintain pump room equipment such as motors, controllers, pressure gauges, and valves.

3. Troubleshooting & System Testing

• Identify and troubleshoot faults in hydrant lines, fire pumps, jockey pumps, and control panels.
• Conduct pressure testing, hydro testing, flow tests, and pump room checks to validate system health and compliance.
• Ensure all rectification work is completed with proper documentation and safety compliance.

4. Compliance & Quality Control

• Ensure all installations meet

  , and relevant fire safety regulations.
• Maintain quality checks during installation and repair work to avoid errors and ensure system efficiency.
• Prepare and implement quality control procedures at site.

5. Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare detailed

  service reports

  , maintenance logs, inspection summaries, and test reports.
• Maintain all documentation required for project handover, system certification, and compliance audits.
• Track and record daily work reports, material consumption, and activity progress.

6. Coordination & Team Support

• Coordinate with clients, site engineers, contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of work.
• Communicate technical requirements clearly and ensure workers follow installation standards.
• Provide on-site support, training, and technical guidance to technicians and helpers when required.
• Ensure timely communication of issues, delays, or additional resource requirements.

7. Material Monitoring & Site Management

• Monitor material requirements, consumption, and stock levels at site.
• Ensure proper utilization and handling of pipes, fittings, valves, pumps, and other hydrant materials.
• Raise material request reports and ensure no shortage impacts work progress.

8. Safety & Work Discipline

• Follow and enforce safety protocols during installation, testing, and maintenance activities.
• Ensure all team members use appropriate PPE and follow site safety guidelines.
• Maintain housekeeping and safe practices inside the pump room and work area.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong technical knowledge of fire hydrant systems, pumps, valves, hose reels, and sprinkler line connections.
• Ability to read, interpret, and execute work based on

  GA drawings, layout drawings, and isometric drawings

  .
• Hands-on experience with hydrant line routing, pump room setup, valve operations, and testing procedures.
• Excellent troubleshooting ability and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and client-handling capabilities.
• Ability to work in challenging site conditions and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Additional Requirements

• Willingness to travel to multiple client locations when required.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage site demands efficiently.
• Strong team coordination skills with the ability to lead and motivate on-site workers.
