Conduct fire risk assessments across furnaces, rolling mills, welding stations, and storage areas.
Develop and enforce fire safety protocols including hot work permits, gas cylinder handling, and electrical safety.
Inspect and maintain fire protection systems such as hydrants, sprinklers, extinguishers, alarms, and detectors.
Ensure compliance with statutory regulations (Factory Act, IS codes, OSHA standards, and environmental safety norms).

Emergency Preparedness & Response

Lead firefighting and rescue operations during emergencies, coordinating with plant security and external fire brigades.
Conduct evacuation drills and mock exercises to test readiness of employees.
Investigate fire incidents, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions.
Maintain emergency equipment including breathing apparatus, rescue tools, and PPE kits.

Training & Awareness

Conduct employee training programs on fire prevention, first aid, and safe handling of hazardous materials.
Promote safety culture through toolbox talks, posters, and awareness campaigns.
Mentor junior safety staff and guide contractors on industry-specific fire safety practices.

Preferred candidate profile

Minimum 4 years of experience
in fire and safety within iron/steel manufacturing.
Degree/Diploma in Fire & Safety Engineering
or equivalent certification.
Good knowledge of IS/OSHA standards
and industrial safety codes.
Excellent communication skills
for training, reporting, and coordination.
