Description
Job Objective:
To ensure the safety and security of personnel, property, and premises by implementing and
monitoring fire safety, occupational safety, and security protocols. This role involves risk
assessment, emergency preparedness, regulatory compliance, and coordination with relevant
departments and authorities.
Key Responsibilities:
Fire Safety Duties:
• Develop, implement, and maintain fire safety policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular fire risk assessments and inspections of buildings and facilities.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and national fire safety regulations.
• Maintain and inspect fire safety equipment (extinguishers, alarms, sprinklers).
• Organize and lead fire drills and evacuation procedures.
• Train staff on fire prevention and emergency response.
• Investigate fire incidents and prepare detailed reports.
• Advise on fire safety during design and construction of new buildings.
• Monitor fire alarm systems and respond to fire emergencies.
• Maintaining, testing, and commissioning of fire hydrant firefighting systems.
• Maintaining, testing, and managing fire alarm systems, FM 200, NOVEC 1230
Automatic Gas Suppression System, VESDA, and Water Leak Detection (WLD)
Systems.
• Handling all emergencies, including Fire, Medical, Snake bites, etc.
• Inspecting work permits for height, hot work, confined spaces, and general tasks,
ensuring proper safety equipment is in place.
• Assisting the Facility Manager in conducting Emergency Evacuation Fire mock drills
twice a year, and handling other evacuation procedures (e.g., electrocution, accidents,
natural calamities, lift rescues, snake bites).
• Preparing audit-related documents for firefighting, fire alarms, fire extinguishers, FM
200, VESDA, WLD systems, physical security, medical emergency reports, and
incident reports.
• Conducting safety and security rounds across all locations.
• Performing surprise night rounds according to schedule in all Pune facilities.
• Ensuring the preventive maintenance (PM) of all BMS equipment is conducted as per
schedule by both internal and external teams.
• Providing approvals for employee vehicle parking stickers and clearance during exit
processes.
• Overseeing day-to-day operations of security.
• Leading daily security team briefings and coordinating with other departments.
• Checking daily security deployment and managing attendance along with monthly
billing certification.
• Performing minor repairs on walkie-talkie sets.
• Ensuring proper functionality of CCTV systems as needed.
• Inspecting and maintaining the PA system.
• Managing and resolving access control issues.
• Supporting all types of events and client visits on company premises.
• Handling medical emergencies, transporting employees to the nearest hospital, and
coordinating with their families.
• Providing training to create awareness about fire safety among all support staff and
employees.
Occupational Safety Duties:
• Identify and mitigate workplace hazards.
• Conduct safety audits and inspections.
• Implement accident prevention programs.
• Administer first aid when necessary.
• Maintain logs and records of safety incidents and inspections.
Security Duties:
• Patrol premises to prevent trespassing, theft, and vandalism.
• Monitor surveillance systems and access controls.
• Escort visitors and ensure secure access to facilities.
• Respond to security breaches and coordinate with law enforcement.
• Conduct preliminary investigations and write incident reports.
• Enforce security policies and procedures.
Skills & Qualifications:
• Proven experience in fire safety, occupational safety, or security roles.
• Knowledge of fire safety regulations and emergency response procedures.
• Certification in fire safety (e.g., NEBOSH Fire Safety, ISO standards).
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to conduct risk assessments and safety audits.
• Physical fitness to perform inspections and emergency duties.
