Department: Construction / Site Execution / Project Delivery Location : Hyderabad Reports To : Construction Manager / Project Manager Role Overview The Finishes Engineer is responsible for the technical planning, execution, and quality control of all architectural finishes in a project. The role requires in-depth knowledge of finishing materials, construction sequencing, tolerances, and coordination with MEP services. The engineer ensures that works are executed in strict accordance with IFC drawings, material specifications, project QA/QC procedures, and relevant codes of practice. Key Responsibilities : 1. Technical Execution Review IFC drawings, specifications, BOQs, and coordinate with design teams for early identification of technical conflicts or ambiguities. • Ensure accurate layout and execution of architectural finishes including, but not limited to: Screeding and leveling o Wall and floor tiling (ceramic, porcelain, marble, granite) o Gypsum and drywall partitions o False ceilings (metal, gypsum, acoustic) o Wood and metal joinery o Decorative wall finishes (veneer, laminate, paint, wallpaper) o Specialist coatings and protective finishes Validate that substrate preparation, waterproofing, and curing processes meet technical requirements. 2. QA/QC & Compliance Prepare and review ITPs, Method Statements, Material Approval Requests (MARs), and checklists. • Conduct and document material inspections, site mock-ups, and sample approvals. • Ensure finishes are installed within acceptable tolerances (e.g., BS 5385, ASTM C1521). • Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for deviations and follow through on corrective actions. • Coordinate inspections with consultant/client and obtain clearances for successive activities. 3. Interface & Coordination • Interface with MEP, structural, and architectural teams to avoid rework and clashes. • Monitor interface zones (e.g., wall openings, access panels, floor drains) for alignment with services. Coordinate with procurement for timely delivery of long-lead finish items. Manage site logistics and sequencing of finish works in congested areas. 4. Planning & Progress Monitoring Develop look-ahead programs for finishes based on main project schedule. Track productivity and manpower deployment; advise on acceleration measures when required. • Generate daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports. Participate in site meetings, technical workshops, and coordination sessions. Qualifications • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent. • Minimum 610 years of relevant experience in finishing works on high-rise buildings, hospitality, commercial, or hospital projects. Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Project/Primavera P6, and site reporting tools. Sound understanding of international codes (ASTM, BS, DIN, ISO), construction tolerances, and QA/QC standards. Preferred Competencies • Expertise in green building finishes (LEED, IGBC, Estidama). • Experience with digital snagging tools (e.g., SnagR, PlanGrid). • Exposure to modular construction and DfMA in interiors. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
