As a Cost Accountant at Bekaert, you will play a crucial role in analyzing cost information, preparing budgets, and monitoring financial goals to drive cost efficiency and operational effectiveness. Your responsibilities will include: - **Cost Analysis**: Collect and analyze cost information to determine the cost of business activities and identify cost-saving opportunities. - **Budgeting**: Prepare and monitor budgets, ensuring alignment with financial goals and identifying variances. - **Cost Reporting**: Generate detailed cost reports and present findings to management, highlighting key insights and recommendations. - **Standard Costing**: Develop and maintain standard costs for products and services, ensuring accuracy and consistency. - **Variance Analysis**: Conduct variance analysis to compare actual costs to standard costs, identifying reasons for discrepancies. - **Inventory Management**: Monitor and analyze inventory costs, ensuring accurate valuation and cost control. - **Process Improvement**: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance cost efficiency and operational effectiveness. - **Compliance**: Ensure all cost accounting activities comply with relevant accounting standards and regulations. To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills: - Professional qualification such as CMA and/or a master's degree in finance (MBA) with 4-7 years of relevant experience. - Familiarity with cost accounting software, financial reporting tools (SAP - FI & CO), and Group Reporting is preferred. - Knowledge of accounting operations and financial functions is essential. - Expertise in MS Excel, Word, and Powerpoint, with experience in Power BI and Analysis for Office being advantageous. - Understanding of relevant accounting standards and compliance requirements. - Exceptional ability to analyze financial data, identify cost-saving opportunities, and attention to detail. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address cost-related issues. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
