Job Description

Job Title: Field Service Technician

Reports To: Service Manager / Operations Manager

Job Purpose:

To provide on-site technical support for clients, ensuring timely preventive maintenance, AMC service visits, and prompt resolution of breakdowns for equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preventive Maintenance (PM) & AMC Visits:
  • Conduct regular preventive maintenance checks on client equipment according to AMC schedules.
  • Ensure all equipment is functioning optimally and document PM activities.
  • Suggest improvements or upgrades if needed.

Breakdown & Emergency Support

  • Respond promptly to client breakdown calls.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair faulty equipment on-site.
  • Coordinate with vendors or suppliers for parts replacement when required.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate service reports for each visit (PM, AMC, or breakdown).
  • Update client records, service logs, and inventory usage.
  • Report recurring issues or major breakdowns to the Service Manager.

Customer Interaction

  • Provide professional and courteous support to clients.
  • Explain technical issues and solutions in simple terms.
  • Ensure client satisfaction after each service call.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Diploma or ITI in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, or related field.
  • 1–5 years of field service experience, preferably in IT, networking, or electrical equipment maintenance.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures and AMC processes.
  • Ability to handle emergency breakdown calls efficiently.

Desired Skills

  • Experience with data centre or IT infrastructure equipment is a plus.
  • Basic networking or server hardware knowledge.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.
  • Willingness to travel for on-site visits.
