Job Description

As an FPGA Engineer specializing in Image Processing for Avionics, your role will involve designing, developing, verifying, and optimizing FPGA-based image processing systems used in advanced airborne vision and sensor platforms. Your responsibilities will include: - Designing, implementing, and verifying FPGA-based architectures for real-time image and video processing in avionics applications. - Developing RTL code (VHDL/Verilog/SystemVerilog) for high-speed image pipelines, compression, and filtering algorithms. - Integrating FPGA modules with embedded processors (e.g., ARM, MicroBlaze, Nios) and external interfaces such as ARINC818, ARINC429, PCIe, HDMI, DVI, LVDS, DDR4/3/2 & Ethernet, USB, SD, eMMC, I3C/I2C, SPI/QSPI etc. - Optimizing FPGA designs for performance, area, and power efficiency under aerospace hardware constraints. - Collaborating with system, hardware, and software teams to ensure seamless integration of FPGA solutions into avionics systems. - Conducting simulation, synthesis, and timing analysis using industry-standard tools (Vivado, Quartus, ModelSim, etc.). - Participating in DO-254 design assurance activities, including documentation, verification traceability, and test case generation. - Supporting hardware bring-up, debugging, and in-lab testing of FPGA boards and image acquisition systems. - Contributing to the evaluation of new FPGA devices, IP cores, and image processing technologies. Qualifications required for this role include: - BE/ME in Electronics from a reputed college. Specialization in VLSI and Embedded Design is a plus. - 3 to 8 years of experience in designing and implementing FPGA based solutions in Xilinx or Altera FPGA, preferably FPGA based product development experience. - Experience in System Design with Xilinx/Altera FPGA devices with relevant tools. - Experience in Verilog and/or VHDL coding. - Experience in synthesis and implementation (floor planning and placement and routing) using FPGA tools. - Experience in using constraints to achieve timing requirement. - Experience in working on high-speed FPGA designs is a major plus. - Thorough knowledge of Static Timing Analysis (STA) is an added advantage. - Experience in building test benches for verification. - Experience in board level testing and system debugging. - Knowledge of protocols like USB, Ethernet, PCIe, I2C, SPI, QSPI, UART, JTAG, ARINC818, ARINC429, SD, eMMC, DDR4/3 etc. - Hands-on experience with FPGA debugging tools and test measurement instruments such as oscilloscope and Logic Analyzer. - Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.,
