As a Field Service Engineer at Caterpillar, you will provide technical support of field startups and integration of distributed energy sources both standard and non-standard Hybrid/Custom Power Solutions, switchgear systems, remedial repairs and preventative maintenance in assigned territory. This role will be under the general supervision of the Engineering Manager Commissioning Services.
Responsibilities:
- Perform startup, Site Integration, preventative maintenance, testing, repair, and advanced electrical services on generator paralleling controls and switchgear, Battery Energy Storage Systems .
- Responsible for implementing the engineering solution on the site
- Train technicians and internal/external customers in preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and testing of equipment
- Assist the Dealer Solution Network (DSN) help desk to resolve customer issues.
- Assist the dealer service and sales personnel in promoting products and services
- Analyze statistical data and draw interpretations/Patterns for troubleshooting and come with possible solutions for implementation (field Fix)
- Submit daily reports, weekly expenses, and project files in a timely manner.

Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology or a minimum 10+ years of equipment work experience or Equivalent experience with relative academic background.
- Expert in understanding and identifying problems in Different types of AC/DC Schematics and wiring diagram.
- Experienced in PLC programming with CODESYS (IEC61131 Structured Text and FBD). Previous experience with Allen Bradley, Schneider, Siemens, and GE systems shall be an added advantage
- Human Machine Interface programming experience (Rockwe'll, Schneider, Siemens, GE, etc), Ecostruxure experience shall be preferred.
- Knowledge of Power Distribution and Switchgear is must
- CEPA trained/ EGSA certification is preferred
- Proficient in Industrial Communications set up, problem identification and resolution.
- Computer proficiency Microsoft office and other new generation software
- Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods and willing to travel under short notice to different regions of the world under demanding conditions
- Ability to perform repetitive operations.
- Ability to lift to 35 lbs.
- Must be able to travel internationally up to 75% of the time with a valid, with unrestricted valid passport.
