Fashion Design cum Merchandiser

Job Title:

Location: Jadavpur (Kolkata)

We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Fashion Designer cum Merchandiser to join our growing team at El Ombre Exports Pvt Ltd. on immediate basis.The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in fashion design, product development, and merchandising. You will be involved in the entire process — from concept creation and fabric sourcing to sample development and buyer coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop new design concepts, sketches, and tech packs based on market trends and brand aesthetics by hand sketch as well as in the software.

Coordinate with the production team for sample making, fitting, and final approval, QC.

Source fabrics, trims, and accessories as per design and production requirements.

Handle buyer communication — including updates on samples, costing, and delivery timelines.

Maintain records of styles, mood boards, and product details.

Work closely with the team to align product launches with brand campaigns.

Conduct market and trend research for seasonal collections.

Ensure quality, fit, and finish of final products before production.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Fashion Design or Fashion Merchandising .

6 to 12 months of experience in export house/similar role (preferably in women’s wear).

Strong understanding of fabrics, patterns, and garment construction.

Good communication and coordination skills.
