Factory Quality Assurance (QA) – Pre-Packaging

Role Objective:

Ensure all factory-made components meet Living Timeless quality standards before packaging, so that site installation is smooth, clean, and rework-free.

This role owns quality till “Ready for Packaging” sign-off.

Key responsibilities (Phase wise)

Phase 1 – Pre-Production QA (Partial Intervention)

• Validate final approved drawings before cutting
• Cross-check dimensions, materials, finishes, and hardware specs
• Confirm client approval is documented
• Flag design clashes or impractical tolerances
• Provide “OK to Cut” approval

Phase 2 – Cutting & Component QA

• Inspect cut panels for size accuracy, squareness, and edge band quality
• Verify carcass components (sides, shelves, backs, bottoms)
• Check grain direction and panel straightness
• Reject or send defective parts for rework

Phase 3 – Shutter & Finish QA

• Inspect shutters individually (PU / laminate / acrylic / veneer)
• Ensure shade consistency, flatness, and clean edge finish
• Zero tolerance for scratches, bubbles, waves, chips
• Perform light-angle and wipe tests
• Ensure visual consistency for the same kitchen set

Phase 4 – Hardware Fitment QA (Component Level)

• Verify correct hardware installation (hinges, channels, lift-ups)
• Test movement, soft-close, and drawer glide
• Conduct basic load testing
• Ensure correct drilling and no stripped screws
• Approve components as Ready for Packaging

Explicit Exclusions:

This role does NOT handle:

•  Dry assembly or mock fitting
• Packaging or dispatch
• Logistics or site installation

Performance Metrics

• Reduction in site rework due to factory defects
• First-time-right component rate
• Finish-related complaint reduction
• QA checklist accuracy & completeness

Ideal Candidate

•  3–6 years experience in modular furniture / kitchen manufacturing
• Strong knowledge of boards, finishes, edge banding, and hardware
• Detail-obsessed, quality-first mindset
• Comfortable rejecting sub-standard work
