Description
As a Design and Development Engineer for Gear Shifting system, your responsibilities will include: - Designing and developing Gear Shifting system, both Internal and external mechanics. - Providing robust solutions for failures/issues through strong Problem-solving skills, Root cause Analysis, and Decision making. - Presenting technical Decks to the management and CFT, demonstrating strong communication skills. - Coordinating for Validations and Testing. - Releasing prototype & production intent designs, ensuring compliance with best practices, Function, assembly requirements, and serviceability requirements. - Participating in VAVE Workshops to meet cost targets. - Analyzing FEA simulation results and suggesting improvements in the designs. - Executing global localization/product design and development activities for subsystem from RFQ phase till the start of regular production. - Monitoring APQP, PPAP practices, and Engineering change management. - Validating component specifications during each project phase. - Supporting the program team to achieve milestones in terms of best cost and on-time deliverables. - Communicating design risks, related changes, and impacts to all cross-functional teams like purchasing, quality, project, manufacturing, etc. - Participating in supplier technical reviews with different cross-functional teams. - Performing Design calculations. Qualifications required for this role: - Graduate/Post Graduate degree in mechanical/automotive engineering Discipline. - System Expertise focusing on manual transmission shifting system. - 15+ years of experience in Manual Transmission design and development. - Strong Process knowledge of Casting, Stamping, Forging, Machining, injection Moulding. - Hands-on experience on Detailing, Tolerancing, and stack-up analysis. - Good knowledge of materials and heat treatment processes. - Sound knowledge of APQP and PPAP processes. - Hands-on experience in tools like CATIA/UG. - Strong Problem-solving skills. - Excellent presentation Skills. - PLM tools experience Ex. Innovia, team Center. - Interpersonal Skills. - Willingness to travel to supplier places within India.
