As a Procurement Officer for steel raw materials, your role involves handling the procurement process efficiently to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of various steel items. Your key responsibilities include: - Procuring steel raw materials such as angles, beams, plates, channels, pipes, fittings, flanges, and manual valves. - Identifying, evaluating, and negotiating with suppliers to secure the best deals. - Maintaining a vendor database and fostering long-term supplier relationships. - Processing purchase orders, enquiries, and quotations through the SAP ERP system. - Monitoring order status, delivery schedules, and material receipts closely. - Collaborating with production, stores, and quality teams for effective material planning and fulfillment. - Ensuring adherence to company policies, quality standards, and delivery deadlines. - Conducting price comparisons, cost analysis, and budget control for procurement activities. - Generating reports and maintaining records using Excel, Word, and SAP ERP. In addition to the responsibilities mentioned, you should possess the following qualifications and skills: - Strong knowledge of steel raw materials and mechanical items like pipes, fittings, flanges, and valves. - Hands-on experience in using SAP ERP for procurement functions. - Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and other office tools. - Effective negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills. - Analytical mindset with a focus on cost optimization and timely supply. - Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.,
