Executive Housekeeper

The JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar is currently seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Housekeeping & Laundry Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily shift operations of Housekeeping, Recreation/Health Club, and Laundry departments. Your primary duties will include directing and working with employees to ensure that guestrooms, public spaces, and employee areas are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness. You will be responsible for conducting inspections, identifying areas that require attention, and holding employees accountable for corrective actions. Additionally, you will play a key role in ensuring guest and employee satisfaction while adhering to the operating budget. To be successful in this role, you should possess a high school diploma or GED, along with at least 2 years of experience in the housekeeping or a related professional area. Alternatively, a 2-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related major from an accredited university will also be considered, with no work experience required. As the Housekeeping & Laundry Manager, you will be tasked with managing various aspects of housekeeping operations, including communicating guest room status to the Front Desk, coordinating with the Engineering department for maintenance needs, supervising the general cleaning schedule, and ensuring an adequate inventory of supplies. You will also oversee daily housekeeping shift operations, maintain compliance with housekeeping standards and procedures, and support an effective inspection program for guestrooms and public spaces. In addition to managing housekeeping operations, you will play a vital role in controlling departmental costs to achieve budgeted goals. You will be expected to understand the financial impact of departmental operations on the overall property goals and manage accordingly to exceed budgeted goals. Furthermore, you will be responsible for handling guest problems and complaints, striving to improve service performance, and empowering employees to provide excellent customer service. As part of your responsibilities, you will also be involved in various human resources activities, such as staffing levels supervision, employee performance appraisal, training, and development. You will ensure that property policies are administered consistently, disciplinary procedures are followed, and employee orientation programs are conducted effectively.
