Executive Fire and Safety

Key responsibilities

• Policy and compliance: Develop, implement, and maintain fire and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local and international regulations and standards.
• Risk assessment and hazard control: Conduct regular safety inspections, identify hazards, and recommend and implement solutions to minimize or eliminate risks. This includes assessing mechanical/civil and contractor activities.
• Emergency preparedness: Develop and coordinate emergency response and evacuation plans. Conduct regular mock drills and train staff on fire prevention and emergency procedures.
• Equipment and infrastructure: Ensure all fire safety equipment (e.g., alarms, sprinklers, extinguishers) is properly maintained, tested, and in good working condition. Monitor the upkeep of fire pump rooms, and other critical areas.
• Training and awareness: Provide fire safety training and awareness sessions to all employees and ensure new hires complete safety inductions.
• Incident investigation: Investigate accidents, near misses, and other safety incidents to determine causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Record keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all safety-related activities, including training, inspections, and incidents.
• Work permits: Monitor and ensure that work permits are issued and followed for all construction and other activities on-site to ensure they are carried out safely.

Qualifications and experience

• Education: Typically requires a degree in Fire and Safety Engineering or a related field.
• Experience: 2+ years of experience in fire safety, with exposure to construction safety being a plus. Experience with safety management systems like OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001 is also advantageous.
• Knowledge: Familiarity with relevant codes and standards such as the National Building Code (NBC) and NFPA is often required.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹34,750.74 per month
