We are looking for an experienced Jira Administrator to join our team and manage the configuration, optimization, and support of our Jira environments. The Jira Administrator will play a crucial role in managing workflows, permissions, automation, and integrations to ensure the smooth functioning of project management and issue-tracking processes. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, provide end-user training, and continually enhance Jira to meet the evolving needs of the business. Key Responsibilities: Jira Configuration and Customization: Configure and manage Jira workflows, fields, permissions, notifications, issue types, and screens. Implement and maintain Jira boards, filters, dashboards, and reporting tools. Customize Jira software to support Agile (Scrum, Kanban) and IT Service Management (ITSM) practices. User and Role Management: Administer user accounts, roles, groups, and permissions in Jira to ensure appropriate access levels. Monitor and manage system usage and access to maintain security and compliance. Plugin and Add-on Management: Install, configure, and maintain Jira plugins and add-ons such as ScriptRunner, Tempo, Jira Automation, and others as needed. Evaluate and recommend additional add-ons to extend Jiras capabilities based on business requirements. Scripting and Automation: Automate repetitive tasks and processes using built-in Jira Automation, Groovy scripting, or other tools. Design and implement custom workflows and triggers for more efficient project management. System Maintenance and Performance: Perform regular system maintenance, including Jira upgrades, backups, indexing, and performance monitoring. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Jira performance, configuration, and permissions. Integration with Other Tools: Manage Jira integrations with Confluence, Bitbucket, GitHub, Slack, Jenkins, and other project management tools. Work with development and DevOps teams to streamline workflows across systems. Stakeholder Collaboration and Support: Collaborate with project managers, developers, and IT teams to understand their needs and deliver Jira configurations that align with their objectives. Provide Jira training and support to end-users, offering best practices and guidelines for effective usage. Reporting and Analytics: Create and maintain Jira dashboards and reports to provide key insights into project performance, team productivity, and issue tracking. Generate custom reports for stakeholders and management to track project progress and metrics. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with Jira’s latest features and capabilities, and continuously improve Jira configurations to meet business needs. Identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend Jira solutions. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Atlassian certifications (e.g., Jira Administrator, Jira Service Project Administrator) are a plus. Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience as a Jira Administrator in an enterprise environment. Strong experience with configuring Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and associated add-ons. Experience in administering both Jira Cloud and on-premise environments is a plus. Technical Skills: Proficiency in Jira administration tasks such as managing workflows, permissions, schemes, and custom fields. Experience with scripting and automation tools within Jira (e.g., Groovy scripting, Jira Automation). Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and ITSM practices. Knowledge of integrating Jira with other systems (Confluence, Bitbucket, GitHub, CI/CD tools). Basic knowledge of databases and querying Jira data (PostgreSQL, MySQL) is a plus. Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Ability to train users and provide ongoing support. Analytical mindset and detail-oriented. Preferred Skills: Familiarity with Confluence and its integration with Jira for documentation and collaboration. Knowledge of Atlassian ecosystem tools like Bitbucket, Trello, and Bamboo. Experience in migrating Jira instances or upgrading from Jira Server to Jira Cloud/Data Center.
