Job Description

To lead the English Department in designing, delivering, and evaluating a Cambridge-aligned English Language and Literature program that promotes linguistic excellence, critical thinking, creativity, and international academic standards among secondary students.

Key Responsibilities:

A. Academic Leadership

  • Plan, design, and deliver the English curriculum for secondary level
  • Integrate global perspectives, real-world examples, and inquiry-based learning in lesson plans.
  • Monitor syllabus coverage and learning outcomes effectively.

B. Departmental Management

  • Supervise and mentor English teachers within the department
  • Conduct internal departmental meetings, lesson observations, and peer reviews.
  • Review teaching plans, assessment rubrics, and student feedback regularly.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and professional growth among teachers.

C. Assessment & Evaluation

  • Develop formative and summative assessments in accordance with Cambridge Assessment criteria.
  • Conduct internal moderation to ensure consistency in grading and feedback.
  • Analyze exam results to identify areas for curriculum and teaching improvement.
  • Guide teachers and students for internal and external benchmark assessments.

D. Student Development

  • Promote advanced communication, analytical, and writing skills among students.
  • Mentor students for Cambridge exams, essay writing, debates, and literature events.
  • Organize English literary festivals, reading clubs, public speaking programs, and creative writing competitions.
  • Encourage participation in global Cambridge events, Olympiads, or literary forums.

3. Qualifications and Experience

  • Educational Qualification:
  • Master’s Degree in English or related field.
  • B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification (mandatory).
  • Cambridge International Certification
  • Experience:
  • Minimum 5–10 years of teaching
  • At least 2–3 years in a leadership or coordination role.
  • Preferred Skills:
  • Strong command of English language and literature.
  • Familiarity with Cambridge Global Perspectives and blended learning tools.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring skills.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
