Job Description

Role: Engineer Zero-Based Costing (ZBC) Casting & Machining Components (Tractor Industry) Responsibilities: Develop Zero-Based Costing (ZBC) models for casting and machining components. Analyze part drawings, material specifications, and manufacturing processes to estimate the true manufacturing cost . Evaluate raw material costs, process cycle times, labor, overheads, machine hour rates , and tooling costs . Collaborate with design, procurement, supplier quality , and manufacturing teams to validate costing assumptions. Benchmark components and processes across suppliers and competitors to identify cost reduction opportunities . Work closely with suppliers to verify cost drivers and challenge unjustified pricing. Participate in design-to-cost , value analysis/value engineering (VA/VE) , and should-cost initiatives. Support strategic sourcing decisions and supplier negotiations by providing reliable cost breakdowns. Create and maintain a cost database of materials, machines, and process norms. Stay updated on market trends , raw material prices, and manufacturing technologies in casting and machining.
