Engineering Manager

Oracle Communications Cloud Native Applications engineering team is seeking experienced engineering manager. We are seeking candidates with 4+ years of technical management and 10+ years of development experience in a Java, Linux environment with prior telecom or networking experience. Department Description: Join Oracle's Cloud Native applications development team to create core mobile applications in the 5G network. Oracles cloud native applications enables routing, traffic management and load-balancing tasks to create an architecture that enables your 5G networks to grow incrementally to support increasing service and traffic demands. RESPONSIBILITIES Manage a team of experienced developers and testers who design, develop, and test 5G applications using cloud native principles and Java/J2EE on Linux platform. Coach and motivate engineers to enable timely solution of new requirements and product defects with high quality software. Develop process that optimize work assignments to grow and retain team talent. Work/Co-ordinate/collaborate with global product team. Guide design and solution discussions to improve the software performance, maintainability, serviceability, and reliability. Coordinate with Support and consultancy teams within Oracle to understand customer use cases and enable software team to determine solutions. Estimate, plan, track and execute software development and support activities. Recruit best fit engineers. Other duties may be assigned. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: BE/BS/MS/MCA/MBA – educational background. Strong command on spoken and written English. Experience with networking protocol or networking product development. Working experience in following technologies is preferred: Java, Database, OJET, GUI Front end Technologies, Microservices, Cloud Native technologies. Knowledge of product development methodology, tools and software development lifecycle Experience working with a worldwide engineering team. Experience working with teams of diverse cultural backgrounds. Proven record of delivering quality products on schedule Ability to multi-task and handle changing priorities. Excellent team skills, can-do attitude, focus on quality and drive to make a difference in a dynamic, fast paced organization.
