Engineering Manager, Google Search

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role, overseeing projects, with 3 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 3 years of experience working in a matrixed organization.
• Knowledge of areas like Machine Learning (ML), Search Infra, Search Features.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of Software Engineers and offer clarity with planning, designs, and execution.
• Mentor/guide the team-members with timely, actionable feedback and help them grow.
• Be responsible for large engineering and organizational problems that span multiple teams/components and systematically lead the team to solve them.
• Collaborate across multiple teams and functions, driving alignment, prioritization, execution, decisions.
