Engineering Manager

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Engineering Manager with a strong background in React, Node.js, and PostgreSQL. The ideal candidate will lead a team of talented engineers, drive the development of robust and scalable applications, and ensure the successful delivery of projects.

Responsibilities

Team Leadership:

• Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of software engineers.
• Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture.
• Conduct regular one-on-ones and performance reviews.
• Identify skills gaps and provide opportunities for growth and development.

Project Management:

• Oversee project timelines, deliverables, and resource allocation.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define project scope and requirements.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Facilitate Agile/Scrum processes, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.

Technical Leadership:

• Provide architectural guidance and technical direction for projects.
• Ensure the team adheres to best practices in coding, testing, and deployment.
• Review code and provide constructive feedback.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.

Development and Implementation:

• Participate in hands-on coding and development, primarily using React, Node.js, and PostgreSQL.
• Lead the design and development of scalable and maintainable applications.
• Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.

Quality Assurance:

• Implement and oversee testing strategies to ensure high-quality software.
• Ensure proper documentation of code, processes, and systems.
• Continuously improve the development process to enhance efficiency and quality.

Requirements

Educational Background:

Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience

• Proven experience (5+ years) in software development with a focus on React, Node.js, and PostgreSQL.
• At least 2-3 years of experience in a leadership or managerial role.
• Strong experience with front-end technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS) and back-end frameworks.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in React and its ecosystem (Redux, React Router).
• Extensive experience with Node.js and Express.
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, including database design and optimization.
• Familiarity with modern DevOps practices and tools (CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes).

• Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with TypeScript and GraphQL.
• Previous experience in a start-up or fast-paced environment.
