Engineer / Sr.Engineer

Role Overview

The Engineer / Sr. Engineer will be responsible for the validation and testing of steering, suspension, wheels, and tyres across passenger and light commercial vehicles. The role requires close coordination with cross-functional teams including design, product development, and testing to ensure components meet performance, safety, and quality standards. The candidate will develop and execute Design Verification Plans (DVPs), perform instrumentation-based and objective testing, analyze results, and release detailed reports. Additionally, the role involves identifying concerns, performing root cause analysis, and conducting subjective assessments to support vehicle refinement.

Key Responsibilities

Validation & Testing

• Plan and execute validation activities for steering, suspension, wheels, and tyre systems in line with project timelines.

• Develop and maintain system-level DVPs and testing protocols as per design specifications and industry standards.

• Perform instrumentation, objective testing, and subjective assessment on vehicles.

• Analyze test data to evaluate system performance, durability, and reliability.

• Release detailed validation reports and highlight key findings to relevant stakeholders.

Cross-Functional Coordination

• Collaborate with design, product development, and CAE teams to understand design intent and testing requirements.

• Provide feedback to design teams regarding component performance and potential improvements.

• Coordinate with suppliers and third-party testing partners when required.

Issue Identification & Problem Solving

• Identify, document, and report component/system concerns during testing.

• Perform root cause analysis of failures or deviations and suggest corrective actions.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance and reliability.

Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare test plans, validation reports, and technical documentation as per project requirements.

• Ensure all test procedures comply with company and regulatory standards.

• Maintain accurate records of test data, analysis, and findings for review and audits.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of vehicle dynamics, steering, suspension, wheels, and tyre systems.

• Experience with DVP creation, instrumentation, and objective testing techniques.

• Proficiency in analyzing vehicle test data, generating reports, and interpreting results.

• Understanding of subjective evaluation methods for ride, handling, and NVH characteristics.

• Familiarity with automotive testing standards and procedures.

• Excellent coordination and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.

• Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

• Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation.

• Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
