Engineer (Electrical or Electronics) : Product Development

Role & responsibilities

Skilled Electrical/Electronic Engineer with strong experience in appliance product development, NPD, PCBA design, and electrical harness design. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in electrical/electronic hardware design, DFMEA, microcontroller programming, and Siemens PADS, with a proven track record of delivering innovative heating appliance solutions from concept to production.

• Product Development & NPD:

• Lead the electrical & electronics design and development of consumer heating appliances (Electric Water Heaters, Solar Water Heaters, Induction Cooktops, Infrared Cooktops, etc.).
• Electrical Jig /Panel design and Development for PCBA and product testing with Controller / PLC
• Work with VAVE Projects and standardization of Parts and drive the change management plan.
• End-to-end involvement in

  New Product Development

  including feasibility studies, prototyping, validation, and production release.

• PCB & Circuit Design:

• Design and develop

  Controller PCBAs

  , power electronics circuits, test jigs, and electronic harnesses for appliance control systems.
• Use

  Siemens PADS

  for schematic capture and PCB layout design.
• Ensure compliance with IEC safety and EMC standards.
• Electrical Jig Developments, SOP and Documentation generation.

• Harness & P-Cord Development:

• Design electrical harnesses, connectors, and P-cords ensuring manufacturability and cost efficiency.
• Standardize components for cost saving and ease of production.

• Microcontroller Programming & Testing:

• Develop embedded firmware for appliance controllers using microcontrollers for features like heating control, touch sensing, IoT connectivity (Wi-Fi, BLE, APP).
• Conduct debugging, testing, and optimization.

• DFMEA & Risk Management:

• Prepare and execute

  Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis

  to identify and mitigate potential risks in product design.
• Use tools like

  Why-Why Analysis

  and

  Fishbone diagrams

  for RCA of field complaints.

• Project Management:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, industrial design, manufacturing) to ensure timely delivery of projects.
• Work with OEM/ODM suppliers, handle RFQ/RFP processes, and review supplier designs.
• Execute

  Value Engineering

  and

  Kaizen

  initiatives for cost optimization.

Preferred candidate profile

• Good understanding in NPD process & stage-gate methodology
• Should be strong in change management process and execution
• PCBA design & Siemens PADS, Gerber generation, PCBA development process up to 2 layer
• Electrical harness & P-cord development
• DFMEA, RCA, Why-Why, Fishbone analysis
• Microcontroller programming (C/Embedded C)
• IoT integration (Wi-Fi/BLE/App control), Testing, App Testing, DVT, Validation
• Compliance standards (IEC, safety, EMC, BIS, BEE) understanding
• Project management & vendor coordination
• Coordinate with CFT team for multiple projects at same time
• Ready to travel and take responsibility and self-organising
• Support Project managers in achieving the targets
