Engineer - Electrical Design Department

Job Title : Engineer – Transformer Mechanical Design

Department: Transformer Mechanical Design / Engineering

Reporting To: Senior Design Engineer / Design Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Design mechanical components of transformers including tanks, covers, radiators, conservators, clamping structures, and accessories.
• Prepare GA, fabrication, and assembly drawings.
• Perform mechanical calculations for tank strength, vacuum, short-circuit, lifting, and jacking loads.
• Coordinate with electrical design to ensure overall design compatibility.
• Ensure compliance with IEC, IS, IEEE, ANSI, and customer specifications.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing, quality, and procurement teams; resolve shop-floor issues.
• Review vendor drawings and optimize designs for cost, material usage, and manufacturability.
• Maintain design documentation, BOMs, and manage engineering changes (ECR/ECO).
• Support testing, project execution, customer queries, inspections, and audits.

• Education : Diploma / Draughtsman in Mechanical Engineering

Experience:

• 2–5 years of experience in transformer mechanical design (distribution or power transformers)
• Fresh graduates may be considered for junior engineer roles.
